INTERNATIONAL GATHERING OF CLAN DAVIDSON

DINGWALL, SCOTLAND

SEPTEMBER 2007

The Clan Davidson International gathering was a complete success. The welcome from our clan members in the UK were especially cordial and we were treated grandly. Representatives from many countries were present with many members for Australia, New Zealand (The Chiefs oldest son Grant, who is actually living in Spain presently) Additionally a few from the US and Canada and of course a large contingent from the British Isles including Northern Ireland.

I am happy to report our castle is back in excellent hands since it went through a period with an organization called the Swallow Hotel Chain. It is now owned by the Oxford Hotels and Inns. The new Hotel manager is the gracious and beautiful Anne MacDonald.

One of the big surprises for us was the dedication of the new Clan Davidson Room which is housed in a small building adjacent to the main castle. The opening ceremony was performed by no less the Lord Davidson of Glen Clova.

For a more detailed report please follow this link to the Clan Davidson Association UK website. Since Dave Chagnon our own Sennachie was also present along with his wife driving a caravan he nicknamed the T-Rex I am sure we will have a complete and excellent report in the next Sporran. Below is a sample of the many photographs taken by my wife (The Davidson) Debbie.
